Volunteering is a truly rewarding experience – a chance to meet new friends, connect with like-minded people, and be part of the electric race-day atmosphere. But it’s not for the faint-hearted! It’s a long, busy day, and come rain or shine, we’ll rely on your energy and dedication to support this fantastic event.
On race day, thousands of runners will take to the streets of Reading, soaking in the city’s sights while raising life-changing funds for local, national, and international charities. Your support as a volunteer will be essential in helping them every step of the way.

The Roles
Looking to get involved? Join us as a Group or as an individual Race Maker! Whether you're volunteering as an individual or part of a group, there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference:
- Individuals: Apply to become a Race Maker by downloading the application form below.
- Groups: If you’re part of a business, sports club, or a group of friends, why not come together as a Volunteer Team - email the link below.
- Charity Support: We can also connect you with our Charity Partners and event sponsors who need volunteers to support their teams on race day - email the link below.
Please note: Race Makers must be at least 16 years old on race day.

Your Commitment
By signing up to volunteer, you commit to being available for the entire Race Day as well as attending one training session beforehand.
If you’re volunteering as a Team Leader, you’ll need to participate in the training session and take on the responsibility of leading a group on Race Day.
