Green Park Reading Half Marathon Raises More Than Half a Million Pounds for Charity
Green Park Reading Half Marathon has once again demonstrated the incredible power of running for a cause, with participants from the 2026 event raising more than half a million pounds for charities across Berkshire and beyond.
The fundraising milestone highlights the generosity of thousands of runners who took on the iconic 13.1-mile course, choosing to support causes close to their hearts while enjoying one of the UK's most popular half marathons.
The event brought together runners of all abilities, from first-time fundraisers to experienced charity champions, helping dozens of official charity partners continue their vital work in local communities and across the UK. Charities supporting mental health, children's services, cancer research, disability, healthcare, homelessness and many other causes all benefited from the outstanding fundraising efforts.
The Green Park Reading Half Marathon has built a reputation as one of the UK's leading charity fundraising events, with the latest total reinforcing its commitment to creating a lasting impact beyond race day. The event's partnership with JustGiving has also helped make fundraising easier and more accessible for participants, supporting even greater charitable impact.
Race Director Judith Manson said:
"Every year we're inspired by the incredible generosity of our runners. Raising over half a million pounds is a phenomenal achievement and demonstrates what can happen when thousands of people come together with a shared purpose. Whether someone was running in memory of a loved one, supporting a local charity or taking on a personal challenge, every step has helped make a real difference."
"We'd like to thank every runner, supporter, volunteer and charity partner who played their part in making this year's event such a success. The money raised will continue to have a lasting impact on countless lives."
The Green Park Reading Half Marathon continues to attract thousands of participants each year, combining a scenic route through Reading with an electric atmosphere, including the famous Party at Mile 8 and the unforgettable stadium finish at the Reading Stadium.
