4th March 2020 - Hilton Reading Corporate Challenge

TEAMWORK, CAMRADERIE AND COMMUNITY
All top of the agenda for Sunday 5th April’s Hilton Reading Corporate Challenge

Calling all businesses across Berkshire and beyond – it’s time to get your workforce laced up and to the start line of the Hilton Reading Corporate Challenge.

Part of the Reading Half Marathon and Green Park Challenge, don’t miss out on the team event of the year on Sunday 5th April 2020! Colleagues, managers and friends, how better for your team to get fit and healthy, build team morale, fundraise for charities close to your heart, and take part in one of the UK’s most loved running events.

You’ll have a team of 4-6 people with a choice of race distance – a minimum of two and a maximum of three in the team must run the half marathon (adults only 17+) and a minimum of two, maximum of three must run in the 3km, Green Park Challenge.) You’ll take to the home straight with a 15,000 spectator filled Madejski Stadium and race medal like no other. Then celebrate in style, heading to the Hilton Reading Corporate Challenge hospitality area inside the Madejski Stadium for all the post-race relaxation and hospitality you could want – pop open the champagne and refuel with food and refreshments for all.

Corporate Challenge team scores will be calculated as the total of the chip times of the fastest two members running the half marathon and the fastest two members running the Green Park Challenge. All other team members' times will be excluded, so that all teams can be fairly compared no matter the size of the team. 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams will win a trophy for proud display in their workplace!

Emma Cantrell, First Days founder and now CEO is running the half marathon to help raise awareness and funding for the charity’s work. She's set herself the challenge of running 2020km in 2020 to ensure the charity can help over 2020 children across the year.  Reading Half Marathon was her first real distance race in 2019 which gave her the running bug and she's back again this year in the run up to taking on London Marathon later in the month.

In 2019, corporate teams such as Lifecyle Runners, Reading AUDI and Barclays Corporate Runners took on the Challenge for a fun, team day out. At £240 per team of six, that’s a saving of over £80 – enter today, time is ticking to race day! Let's see businesses across Berkshire do what they can to support local charities, just like First Days. www.readinghalfmarathon.com
